FYI, Uhlich is the one on the right.
I know, I know, reality TV shows are the devil, but for some reason I inevitably find myself watching the fashion-model oriented ones (Cycle 5 of America’s Next Top Model is also partly to blame for this; I adore Kim Stolz). Although I’m nowhere near fashionable myself, the aesthetics of fashion have always intrigued me. Ironically, I also resent the shallow nature of human beings as a whole, yet at the same time find myself falling victim to the charms of the more visually pleasing side of life. But I digress.
Though many people claim that Victoria-born Rhys Uhlich’s victory was a “surprise”, I myself could see it coming a mile away. Rhys was by far the most attractive guy of the bunch – especially after cutting off that horrid blond mane of his – and with the voting left in the hands of the viewers (the main demographic of which was female), it was a predictable outcome… even though he did lack a certain confidence, and his walk was nowhere near as refined as Courtney’s or Shanina’s.
So congratulations, I guess. Now it’s time for me to stick my head in the oven as punishment for subjecting myself to yet another trashy reality TV show. Wish me luck!
(also, as a point of interest for anyone who cares: as it turns out, one of our family’s friends is actually a good friend of Rhys’, so here’s hoping I can snag an autograph or two… er, not that I’m some creepy stalker or anything, of course. Ahem.)
